Drink When You're Thirsty

I'm good about staying home in the factory dorm and not wandering out by myself into the big bad city when I'm in China, and most of our Taiwan people are careful, too. That doesn't leave much to do except eating and drinking. The recent promotions gave us plenty of excuses to celebrate, and you can't really celebrate without getting hammered, can you? I just wished that they would pick better ways of going about it. There's the popular mix of Johnny Walker, ice, and bottled green tea. I guess it skips a step when you drink the tea along with the alcohol. It's bad enough by itself, but after a couple of beers and a few shots of straight-up XO, the whiskey-tea mix had me yakking it all up big-time. Then there was the time playing (surprisingly strategic) drinking games via a bottle of made-in-China red wine mixed with 7-Up and ice with a twist of lemon. Ohmygod that was vile, but at least it was dilute.
